Assumptions & disclaimers
- This is an estimate, not an official projection. It is not affiliated with DoD, DFAS, or any branch of service.
- Promotion timing is never assumed — only the years you enter above are used. With no promotions entered, the projection holds your current grade the whole way.
- Every projected year assumes the standard schedule: 48 drill periods + 14 days of annual training (10 U.S.C. §10147 minimum), same as the drill pay calculator's "full year" card.
- Points use the same 77 pts/year estimate as the retirement calculator (48 IDT + 14 AT + 15 membership), and assume your years of service so far equal your good years completed — if your actual points differ (breaks in service, mobilizations), use the retirement calculator for a precise figure from your own points statement.
- The pension figure uses today's basic pay table at the projected years-of-service longevity when pay starts (DoD FMR Vol. 7B ¶2.2.2) — a floor, since future pay tables don't exist yet.
- No mobilization/ADOS eligibility-age reduction is modeled here (this page assumes routine drilling only) — see the retirement calculator for that.
